Prometheus and Grafana
Prometheus and Grafana are open-source monitoring and visualisation tools used for system monitoring in CMP
Converged Monetisation Platform. The MDS Global product that supports customer care and billing for digital service providers.. Prometheus collects and stores metrics such as CPU usage
The consumption of services, for example a subscriber using call minutes. and memory consumption, while Grafana displays these metrics. These are displayed as dashboards in the Admin Console.
The Prometheus/Grafana stack is the default monitoring and alerting framework included in the CMP installation.
System components expose metrics endpoints that Prometheus collects at regular intervals, which Grafana aggregates and visualises in the following dashboards:
-
Alert Dashboard to view a list of activated alerts, and their state.
-
CMP REST
Representational State Transfer. An architectural style that specifies constraints, such as the uniform interface, that if applied to a web service results in performance, scalability, and modifiability, optimising services to work on the Internet. API
Application Programming Interface. A set of functions and procedures that allow the creation of applications that access the features or data of another software system, such as an application or operating system. Dashboard to track application performance, including component availability, response times, throughput, and error rates. -
Default Infrastructure Dashboard to view overall system performance, including CPU usage, total RAM used, and server uptime (the amount of time a server has been running and available without interruption).
Alerts can be set up for probes and schedules, and against the users and teams who are to be the recipients of these alerts.
